Surrey Heath has long been an area people travelled to and from, be it via road, water, train track or air. This exhibition covers our transport links from 1700s stagecoach routes, the building of the Basingstoke Canal, the late 1870s arrival of the railway, increase in use of the motor car at the turn of the 1900s and the building of the M3 motorway in the 1960s. Our transport links are part of our heritage and the communities which developed locally.
